Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3 years of ER experience (or 2 years in a high-volume/trauma facility) and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Facility is a STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
• 36/48 hour alternating biweekly schedule totaling 84 hours with a 72 hour guarantee
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and MAB
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if candidate has high-volume/trauma facility experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic patient populations
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy including starting/maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and IV vasopressors

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Responsibilities include triage, isolation precautions/PPE compliance, and management of ortho trauma including splint application
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
