Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring MD or compact RN licensure and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Float within skillset required
  • Cerner EMR used in this setting

Requirements

  • Active RN license required (MD license or compact license accepted)
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Triage experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
  • Within the past 8 months, must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
  • Prior travel nursing assignment experience required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Candidates who previously worked for this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
