Job Description
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room to provide high-quality care in a busy urban Level I Trauma Emergency Department. The RN will care for patients across all age groups, from neonates and pediatrics to adults and geriatrics, with a wide range of emergency and trauma conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care and patient assessments.
- Care for medical, trauma, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric patients.
- Perform triage and respond to urgent and emergent conditions.
- Administer emergency medications, IV therapy, and blood products.
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and respiratory support.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and perform 12-lead EKGs.
- Care for patients with trauma, overdose, stroke, spinal injuries, burns, seizures, and other critical conditions.
- Provide procedural sedation and assist with emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience.
- Prior experience in an urban Level I Trauma ED is required.
- Teaching hospital experience preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required.
- TNCC and CPI preferred.
- Strong trauma, emergency, cardiac, and critical-care skills.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Local candidates accepted.
- Epic experience preferred.
