Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Travel Contract in Mooresville, NC

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department as a travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Mooresville, North Carolina. This 13-week night contract offers the opportunity to provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a supportive clinical environment serving approximately 80 emergency visits per day. Located in the scenic Lake Norman area, Mooresville provides convenient access to Charlotte, welcoming neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

  • Assignment Type: 13-week Emergency Department travel nursing contract
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
  • Location: Mooresville, NC 28117
  • Start Date: November 2, 2026
  • End Date: February 1, 2027
  • Shift: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday, with approximately 4–5 weekend shifts during the assignment
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
  • Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
  • Department Details: Approximately 18 beds, 14 rooms, and 80 visits per day
  • Floating: May float within the Registered Nurse’s scope of training
  • Orientation: 36 hours; orientations are scheduled biweekly

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Active North Carolina or compact Registered Nurse license in hand
  • Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
  • CPI certification in hand or willingness to obtain before the start date
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Strong emergency nursing assessment, triage, and prioritization skills
  • Experience with electronic health record documentation
  • Ability to successfully complete an onsite EKG/telemetry examination
  • Comfort caring for medical, surgical, trauma, psychiatric, pediatric, and high-acuity emergency patients
  • Ability to provide one supervisory reference from the previous year
  • Previous charge experience and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
  • Required influenza vaccination with no exemptions or declinations accepted

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients across the lifespan in the Emergency Department
  • Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring of changing patient conditions
  • Manage patients experiencing trauma, stroke symptoms, cardiac conditions, respiratory distress, behavioral health crises, overdose, burns, seizures, and other emergencies
  • Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, sedation, and vasopressors according to orders and department protocols
  • Care for patients requiring ventilator support, BiPAP/CPAP, central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and continuous sedation or paralysis
  • Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
  • Initiate and maintain IV access, collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support diagnostic testing
  • Assist with stabilization and management of critically ill, trauma, pediatric, and psychiatric patients
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, interpretation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record
  • Maintain a calm, compassionate, and professional presence in a high-volume emergency setting
