Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and MN licensure.

Details

• Emergency Department in a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Required to work up to every other weekend
• 18% pediatric patient population with high volume of mental health and ETOH cases
• Access to Telestroke/Teleneurology, Telemental Health, and Teleinterpreter services
• Onsite Mental Health Assessment & Referral, Social Worker, Financial Counselor, and pharmacist support available part of the time
• Performs SANE and Domestic Violence exams by trained nurses
• Handles moderate sedation, Nitrous Oxide administration, Level 1 MI's, Trauma Codes, Code Stroke, and Code Sepsis
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Nicom, Ranger Rapid Infuser/Fluid Warmer, Venue 40, Bladder Scanner, Life Pak Defib, Lucas device, Dash 5000 cardiac monitors, and Airpal
• Epic/Excellian charting system used
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC or CALS
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Telemetry and Nitrous Oxide administration skills required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response skills required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Triage skills preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and mental health cases
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, financial counselors, and pharmacists
• Complete pre-start onboarding modules prior to assignment start
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift as perm staff or per diem
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Fingerprinting via LiveScan is a Minnesota state requirement for all candidates prior to start
