Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II trauma center, requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with Epic experience.
Details
- Large Emergency Department treating patients ranging from low to high acuity
- Patient population includes stroke, STEMI, trauma, critically ill, behavioral health, and acute care boarding cases
- Level II adult trauma center and Level III pediatric trauma center
- Primary stroke receiving center and thrombectomy center accepting transfers
- STEMI receiving center
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required, including to sister facilities near the contracted site
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- ENPC accepted as an alternative to PALS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Arterial line management skills preferred
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care
- Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and spinal cord injury
- Pediatric emergency care experience
- Neuro-trauma and traumatic brain injury care experience preferred
- Orthopedic trauma care experience
- Skilled in isolation precautions, PPE use, and triage
- Experience managing critically ill patients and behavioral health de-escalation
- First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
- 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities and specialties in a high-volume ED
- Care for a combined adult/pediatric emergency population
- Scrub color is flexible except for reddish-orange
- Parking is facility paid
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront prior to offer, with limited flexibility post-submission
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this assignment
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
