Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring 5 years of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patient populations
  • Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1845-0715
  • Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
  • NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications also required
  • Minimum 5 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
  • Skilled in IV therapy including central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in neurological emergency care including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
  • Skilled in psychiatric emergency care including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
  • Skilled in pediatric emergency conditions including asthma, seizures, and head injury
  • Skilled in orthopedic trauma care including splinting

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions
  • Responsibilities include triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and identifying/reporting neglect or abuse
  • Required orientation modules will be completed and signed off by facility managers
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions
  • No block scheduling available for this assignment
  • Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
  • Travel pairs accepted
  • Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
