Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Nursing Contract in Columbus, Ohio

Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Patient Population: Pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Unit Volume: Approximately 32 patients per day
- Charting: Epic experience preferred
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience
- Recent Emergency Department experience is required; Emergency Department observation/holding, medical-surgical, or telemetry experience is also required
- Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Experience with Epic clinical documentation is preferred
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor, manager, director, or other formal nursing leader
- Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the assignment start date
Emergency Department Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in an Emergency Department Observation Unit
- Assess, monitor, and care for patients with medical, cardiac, neurologic, renal, respiratory, and traumatic conditions
- Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
- Manage IV insulin, heparin, cardiac, and vasoactive medication protocols, including titration when indicated
- Provide non-invasive airway management, including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy
- Administer blood products and manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound vacs
- Support patients with renal failure, ventilator needs, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex conditions
- Recognize changes in patient condition and appropriately activate rapid response or code team resources
- Provide accurate, timely documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, comfort, education, and continuity of care throughout the observation stay
