Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a AZ or compact RN license.

Details

Float between the Emergency Department and CDU (Observation Unit)
General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
Patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30)
Every other weekend required
Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required
Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
ESI certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and trauma level I/II experience preferred
Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring
Experience managing dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
Skilled in splinting and orthopedic trauma care
Experience with pediatric and adult emergency presentations including asthma, seizures, head injury, and psychiatric emergencies

Additional Information

Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
Orientation held every Monday
Holiday coverage required
First-time travelers are welcome if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
Travel pairs are accepted
Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
