Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Onc Pod area of a hospital Emergency Department
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Floating required
  • Patient ratio of 1:4

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficient in IV starts
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role such as a Supervisor
  • Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within an oncology-focused ED pod
  • Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and triage
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experience with central line care/management and blood product administration
  • Knowledge of emergency medications and IV vasopressors
  • Isolation precautions and PPE protocols followed
  • Pediatric care experience included in scope of practice
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees ineligible for hire as a traveler at this health system
  • Ohio fingerprinting process required promptly upon contract signing due to state compliance requirements
