Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department setting caring for all patient age groups from neonates through geriatrics
• Handles all types of ED presentations including trauma, cardiac, neuro, and ortho cases
• Patient ratios up to 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• Uses Pyxis medication system, MediTech documentation system, and Vocera communication system
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required (hard stop)
• MediTech charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with interpretation of ABGs
• Experience caring for CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, and near drowning patients
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ventilated patient care experience preferred
• ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience preferred
• Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI, and Stroke Certified Facility experience preferred
• Triage experience preferred

• Care for a combined adult/pediatric ED patient population
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted
