Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment.

Position Details

• Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Shift Schedule: Shifts will be either 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM; weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, unless otherwise specified in the signed contract

Core Responsibilities

• Assess patients and provide timely care based on presentations and critical needs.
• Manage all patient care responsibilities, including ER holds and triage, until full capacity is reached.
• Collaborate with emergency department physicians and mid-levels as part of a cohesive healthcare team.
• Perform procedures as required, including venipunctures and patient assessments.
• Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (Meditech) for patient documentation and care coordination.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and support ongoing education and training.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in an emergency room setting is required.
• Skills: Independent thinker, self-motivated, and capable of quick decision-making in fast-paced environments.

Patient Care Environment

• ER Capacity: 11 beds/trauma bays
• Average Patient Volume: Approximately 37 patients per day
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• In-House Security: Available
• Psych/Seclusion Rooms: Standard ER RN assignment in Room 3
