Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a night shift assignment requiring PA or compact RN licensure and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
- Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
- Holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active PA RN license or compact RN license in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
- Completion of lab work required within 72 hours of signing contract
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care and management, and administration of IV vasopressors and medications
- Respiratory care skills required, including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Proficiency in isolation precautions/PPE and triage required
- Candidates must complete PA fingerprinting and Childline clearance promptly after signing the contract
- PA fingerprints must be completed within the state of PA
- Previous permanent or per diem employment at this health system must be disclosed, and such employees must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
