Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:00), 13-week assignment. Weekend requirement of 3 out of 6 weekends. Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Patient ratio 4:1. Daily census of 105 patients with approximately 135 visits per day in a 20-room, 26-bed emergency department.

Highlights:

• Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) serving all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Level 3 trauma center with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Epic charting system with 40 hours of paid orientation
• Float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients; may float to affiliate facilities in the region
• First-time travelers welcome with minimum 1 year of experience required
• Flexible scrub policy allowing personal scrubs (no prints)

Requirements:

• Valid California RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (or willingness to obtain prior to start), ENPC
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in emergency care including trauma, critical care interventions, procedural sedation, triage, and management of diverse patient populations
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius from facility
