Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a current NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with a combined adult/pediatric population
• Fast-paced unit with an average daily census of 70 and 160 visits per day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30, 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Floating expected to ICU and ED using a helping hands/team nursing approach, including patient sitting duties
• Assigned clinical team/unit match required for patient assignments
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Handles a wide range of chief complaints including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, OB/GYN, and sepsis cases
• Performs special procedures including conscious sedation, trauma/stroke alerts, Cath Lab activation, and SANE consultations
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as Point of Care Ultrasound/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology systems
• Uses Epic for documentation, Omnicell for medications, and Voalte/SBAR for communication
• Unit orientation includes 36 hours (1 week of class and clinical time)

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Hampshire or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC (AHA or American Red Cross only)
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
• Pediatric ER experience strongly preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration required
• Travel experience required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across the lifespan for diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma and medical emergencies
• Any scrub color permitted
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former employees of any facility associated with Solution Health are not eligible for this assignment, regardless of separation length
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
