Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least one year of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Target patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No floating requirements
  • Uses Meditech charting system and Omnicell medication management system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MA) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Skilled in triage and multisystem organ dysfunction management
  • Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Interview availability required with submission

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of acute and critical presentations, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
  • 12 hours of on-unit orientation provided, with additional hospital orientation
  • Scrubs of any color are permitted
  • Holiday coverage required for some holidays
  • Keep time-off requests to a minimum, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment, and avoid requesting full calendar weeks off
  • Any time-off requests must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates within a 30-mile radius are accepted at the same pay rate
