Travel ER RN opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse ready to provide adult and pediatric emergency care in a Level II trauma center.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; other shifts may be possible
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care emergency department and verified Level II adult and pediatric trauma center
• Emergency Department: 40 rooms, including dedicated resuscitation bays
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
• Orientation: Mandatory 8-hour orientation days scheduled Monday through Friday during week one and Monday through Tuesday during week two
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse or emergency nursing experience
• Current Indiana or compact Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current TNCC or ATCN certification
• NIHSS certification is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, efficient care in a fast-paced emergency department and trauma setting
• Availability to attend all required orientation days

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with varying levels of acuity
• Perform focused nursing assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and prioritize care appropriately
• Support trauma care, resuscitation, medical emergencies, and high-acuity patient management
• Administer medications and treatments safely using established protocols and Pyxis technology
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Promote efficient emergency department patient flow while maintaining a high standard of compassionate care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up needs
• Maintain compliance with trauma care, emergency nursing, infection prevention, and patient safety standards
