Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring at least one year of ED travel experience and compact or MD RN licensure.

Details

  • Position located in a 54-bed Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
  • High-acuity, fast-paced environment averaging 220 patients per day
  • Combined adult and pediatric ED patient population
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • 20-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Floating required in rotation with staff, in accordance with facility floating policies and clinical experience
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or Maryland State) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS (pending accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds and shock/trauma management
  • Experience with CVA/stroke care in a Stroke Certified Facility
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Triage and orthopedic trauma experience preferred
  • 2-Step PPD and Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume, Level II Trauma and STEMI/Stroke Certified facility
  • Facility does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
  • RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year assignment before returning
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Orientation includes completion of required training modules, which are also completed annually
