Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a 1:4 patient ratio background.

Details

  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Level II Trauma Center within a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 11:00 to 23:30
  • Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
  • EPIC EMR used

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
  • Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required in hand
  • NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia management
  • Experience managing trauma, shock, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
  • Skilled in pediatric and psychiatric emergency care, including managing violent behavior and suicidal patients
  • Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
  • Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
  • Orthopedic skills including splint application and ortho trauma management

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and trauma cases
  • Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and interpretation
  • Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
  • Required orientation modules are completed and signed off by facility managers, averaging 8-12 hours
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions and no modifications after submission
  • No block schedules available
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
  • Travel pairs accepted
  • Former staff must be separated from the facility or system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
