Patients present with urgent and non-urgent conditions but are typically more stable than the emergency room population. Most patients will be discharged home from the ICC, but some will be admitted into the James. ICC sets appointments for patients based off calls they received from the patient s primary team or oncologist. These patients may be coming from another area of the hospital, such as radiation or infusion, or may be coming directly from home. This is a smaller unit, leading to strong relationships between staff members and a supportive environment for staff. While it operates with the urgency and responsiveness of an acute care setting, it is distinct from both traditional outpatient clinics and the Emergency Department. Patients are typically more stable than those seen in the ED but still require timely evaluation and treatment. Special Procedures/Unit Details : ICC sets appointments for patients based off calls they receive from the patient s primary team or oncologist. These patients may be coming from another area of the hospital, such as radiation or infusion, or may be coming directly from home. Staffing: The unit is staffed 24/7 by a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Nurses. The Emergency Department physicians are the supervising and attending physicians for the ICC APPs and their patients. Special Equipment : *******HARD STOP FOR PASS- Acute care experience must be CURRENT/TODAY (and working consistently in the last 12 months) and MUST be in the specialty with which they are applying- PLEASE DO NOT PASS WITHOUT MEETING THIS BASELINE REQUIREMENT. Can screen- but please do NOT PASS ****** #Tier4 Travel Compliance There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start no exceptions. Please screen for any candidate vacation time taking place immediately after booking as this will likely cause a push due to fingerprinting delays. Please only submit to one location.
