Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for an evening/night variable shift position requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and a compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Emergency Department unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Variable evening (3x12, 14:00-2:30) and night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts
• Every other weekend required, with possible back-to-back weekends if needed
• Floating between units based on facility needs and possible floating to sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at submission)
• OR RN license required
• At least 1-2 years of ED experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration (preferred), central line care/management (preferred)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV vasopressor administration preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult/pediatric patient population in a Level I/II trauma, STEMI, and stroke certified facility
• Perform triage and emergency response duties including management of dysrhythmias
• Scrubs provided for ED staff; any color accepted
• No parking fees at this facility

• Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius to be eligible for local (lower bill rate) consideration
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-submission requests may not be granted
