Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and MD or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a high-volume, fast-paced, non-trauma Emergency Department
• 66 rooms/beds with an average census of approximately 200 patients
• Patient population spans all ages from neonates to geriatrics
• ER ratio is 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
• Staffs a 10-bed ED hold/observation unit within the ER with a ratio of 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the specialty, including the ER hold/obs unit as needed
• No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of complex diagnoses and acuities
• May be assigned and rotated into the ER hold/observation unit alongside staff
• Holiday coverage required as they fall per schedule
