Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and a compact RN license in hand at time of submission.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 3x12 hour shifts available, night (18:00-06:30) or day (06:00-18:30)
• Weekend rotation required, no more than every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to other units or sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and staffing needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact) required in hand at time of submission
• OR RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Scrubs are provided for ED staff
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if outside the 50-mile radius
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
