Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department role at a Level I Trauma Center requiring a CT or compact license and TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Average patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedules consisting of 3x12-hour shifts, either 7:00-19:00 or 9:00-21:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Open to block scheduling
- Assigned to one campus with possibility of rotating to other campuses
- Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active or pending CT RN license (Standard or Compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience preferred, 1.5 years considered from a similar hospital setting
- Previous travel experience required, though candidates with 1-2 completed assignments and 3+ years experience will be considered
- Experience with Level I or Level II Trauma Center settings preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency department procedures including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and neurological care
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across pediatric and adult populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Perform skills such as EKG interpretation, splint application, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
