Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active NJ or compact license and adult ED experience.

Details

• 73-bed Emergency Department including pediatrics, fast track, and a 19-bed rapid decision unit
• May care for holding patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6+, varying by census and acuity
• May float to Peds ED on rare occasions, within skillset only
• EPIC charting experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and ITTC-De-escalation Training
• Minimum 1.5 years of adult ED experience required
• Experience with central line care/management, medication administration, isolation precautions, triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Respiratory and critical care skills including CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Additional Information

• Work in a Level I trauma teaching hospital emergency department seeing approximately 95,000 visits annually
• Provide comprehensive emergency care for adult and pediatric populations, including medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Winter holiday coverage required: must work or be on-call for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
