Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 2 Trauma Center requiring an active NY RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Level 2 Trauma Center emergency department with 48 beds in an acute care teaching hospital
• Emergency Medicine residency training program with all EM Board Certified physicians on staff
• Designated Stroke Center with 24-hour Cath Lab availability
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, STEMI, trauma, psych, and sepsis
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Telemetry and ventilator patients managed within the unit
• In-house Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage and 24/7 Pharmacy services available
• RT available 24/7 but does not respond to the ED
• No IV Team or Charge Nurse on the unit
• Supported by ED Techs
• 12-hour night shifts from 7pm-7:30am, 2 shifts per week with no blocked scheduling
• Weekend requirement of 3 shifts per month
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Floating limited to other ED care areas only
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and CPI
• PALS certification preferred
• COVID vaccine required with no declination forms accepted
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• BSN not required for this position

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care within a high-acuity Level 2 Trauma Center
• Work alongside an Emergency Medicine residency training program with Board Certified EM physicians
• Complete 2 clinical shifts of floor-specific orientation
• Scrub requirement: Ceil Blue top with Black or Ceil Blue bottoms, or Blue scrub jackets (no hoodies or sweaters)
