Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment at a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and multiple ACLS/PALS/TNCC certifications.

Details

  • Work in a high-acuity Emergency Department at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • 27-bed ED with ability to flex into hallway beds and vertical care area staffed by EMS
  • Patient population includes oncology, cardiology, transplant, and VAD patients
  • Small pediatric population and non-trauma cases
  • Fair number of psych/behavioral health patients
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on posted schedule
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Floating required within the hospital, but not to sister facilities
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Active WA state RN license or compact license required
  • Minimum 2 years of general ED experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
  • CEN certification preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Triage skills required
  • Experience with ventilated patients and pulmonary artery lines preferred
  • Neurological assessment and ICP monitoring experience preferred
  • Strong references from Manager or Director-level supervisors preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care to a high-acuity and diverse patient population including complex medical, transplant, and behavioral health cases
  • Work alongside EMS staff supporting a vertical care area within the department
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rates as travel candidates
  • RTO must be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week and no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Candidates who previously worked on staff at this facility must have a separation period of at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
