Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in New York, requiring an active NY RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work setting is an acute care hospital Emergency Department with 25+ beds including hallway capacity
  • Patient population includes all ages, with the facility designated as a NYS Stroke Center
  • Common cases include a broad range of emergency presentations across the lifespan
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:3 to 1:5
  • Telemetry skills required, including reading cardiac strips
  • Experience with drips and ventilators required
  • EMR is Epic
  • Shifts are 3x12-hour days with 7am, 11am, or 12pm start times
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • No floating requirement
  • Charge nurse support available; travelers are not assigned to charge roles
  • Nurse aides are available on the unit
  • Respiratory therapy available 24/7
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active NY State RN license in good standing required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip reading required
  • Experience managing drips and ventilators required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

  • Floor-specific orientation provided
  • Any color scrubs are acceptable
  • All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of candidate consideration — no exceptions
