Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring EPIC experience and NH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patient populations across all ages
• 31-bed unit
• Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR communication methods
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Travelers must be willing to float based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire if not already held
• AHA or American Red Cross certifications only accepted
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with neurological, CVA, psychiatric, drug overdose, and respiratory cases
• Experience with emergency medications and intubation
• Experience with pediatric and respiratory infection cases
• Proficient in triage

Additional Information

• Care for pediatric and adult patients presenting with a variety of illnesses, injuries, or trauma
• Responsible for assessing, intervening, and stabilizing patients requiring critical clinical decision-making
• Complete a competency-based orientation program specific to Emergency Services
• No preference on scrub color
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• Former employees of any facility associated with this health system are not eligible, regardless of time since separation or duration of prior employment
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
