Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring an active CA RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients at a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Facility averages 135 ER visits per day with 20-26 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 105
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
• Floating required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients) and to sister facilities within the region
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active California RN license required in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• ENPC certification preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable ER setting required
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of conditions including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, respiratory distress, and neurological emergencies
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with ortho trauma, shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
• Candidates may wear their own scrubs, solid colors only (no prints)
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days
• A 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidates
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
