Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active CA license and at least 3 years of ER experience.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric patients
  • Facility is a STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified hospital
  • High-volume unit with approximately 135 visits per day and 20-26 rooms/beds
  • Average daily census of 105 patients
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
  • Floating required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients) and to sister facilities nearby
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required in hand; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum of 3 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • Preferred certification: ENPC
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with 1:4 patient ratios
  • Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, IV therapy, neurological, and trauma specialties
  • Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and trauma cases
  • Support STEMI and Stroke certified protocols within the ER
  • May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
  • RTO limited to no more than 7 days
  • Candidates may wear their own scrubs, solid colors only (no prints)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • A 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate eligibility
