Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a 13-week assignment at a busy emergency department with 72 beds and approximately 270–300 patient visits per day. The RN will provide emergency care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care, including patient assessment and triage.
- Care for patients with medical emergencies and traumatic injuries.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
- Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy, and provide central line care.
- Administer medications, including IV vasopressors.
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator support.
- Follow isolation precautions and appropriate PPE practices.
- Collaborate with phlebotomy, social services, and unit support staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience; this is a firm requirement.
- Trauma Level II or III experience required.
- Triage experience required. Candidates without triage experience will be screened.
- Community hospital experience required.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and MAB.
- Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and emergency response.
- Travel experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with strong experience.
- Any charting system experience accepted.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
