Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring CA RN licensure and combined adult/pediatric ER experience at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required, with scheduling based on unit needs (Sunday not considered a weekend day)
• Floating required based on facility needs
• Meditech charting system preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, MAB, NIHSS, PALS
• CPI accepted in place of MAB
• TNCC preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV therapy
• Experience managing ventilated patients, CPAP/BiPAP, chest tube insertion, ABG interpretation, and intubation
• Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous IV paralytics/sedation
• Experience managing neuro-trauma, CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with ortho-trauma and splinting
• Experience managing a wide range of pediatric and adult ER presentations including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
• Experience with psychiatric/behavioral health patients including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and psychiatric holds
• Experience managing gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric trauma, medical, and psychiatric presentations
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
• Time off requests must be submitted upfront with the initial profile
• Candidates must be fully committed, as cancellations may result in a Do Not Return (DNR) status
