Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Day shift 3x12 hours with variable start times (7a/10a/12p)
• Every other weekend required (Sunday not considered a weekend)
• Floating required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI or MAB, NIHSS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experienced in managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Competent in arterial line, central line, and blood product management
• Proficient in starting IVs, phlebotomy, and administering emergency medications
• Experienced with ventilated patients, intubation, CPAP/BiPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in neuro-trauma care including CVA, ICP monitoring, and spinal cord/traumatic brain injury management
• Experienced managing psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies including suicidal and violent patients
• Able to manage pediatric and adult trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Manage orthopedic trauma including splinting
• Floating may include coverage to DOU within scope of practice
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the initial profile
