Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:00). Weekend requirement: 3 out of 6 weekends. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). 40 hours of orientation provided. Requested time off limited to no more than 7 days and must be requested upfront during submission.

Highlights:

• Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) treating all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Level 3 trauma center with 20 rooms, 26 beds, and approximately 135 visits per day
• 4:1 patient ratio with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
• Float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients
• Epic charting system with comprehensive emergency care experience across diverse patient populations
• First-time travelers accepted with flexibility to wear your own solid-colored scrubs

Requirements:

• Active California state RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and ENPC required
• TNCC certification preferred (willing to obtain prior to start date if not currently certified)
• Experience with 4:1 patient ratios and Epic charting system
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Clean background check required (no Nursys or background hits accepted)
