Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN or ER nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New York
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Current CPI certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Strong patient assessment, triage, critical-thinking, and emergency response skills
• Ability to work a 12-hour night schedule and participate in weekend rotation as needed
• Must meet the assignment's travel eligibility requirement of residing at least 75 miles from the work location

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to acuity and clinical needs
• Deliver safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care in a high-volume Emergency Department
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments, initiate interventions, and assist with emergency procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Maintain compliance with departmental standards, patient safety practices, and professional nursing guidelines
