Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 3 years of ER experience and NC or compact licensure.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Must float to all Harnett Health locations, including both campuses, as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required, pending license not accepted
• Minimum of 3 years of ER experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of emergency medications
• Experience with psychiatric, drug overdose, and suicidal patients required
• Experience obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias required
• Arterial line management and blood product administration preferred skills
• Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Previous travel experience required

• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response responsibilities
• Scrub color is royal blue and white
• Facility-required modules must be completed prior to start, estimated 4-10 hours
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 4 days permitted, subject to manager's discretion
• Only one major holiday RTO request may be accommodated
• Night shift travelers may extend up to two times before requiring a 6-month break before reapplying
