Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM). Weekend requirement of 3 out of 6 weekends. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Patient ratio of 4:1. Approximately 135 visits per day with an average daily census of 105 patients.

• 26-week assignment at a Level 3 trauma center with Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) designation
• 40 hours of paid orientation to support your transition
• 20 treatment rooms and 26 beds serving all patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, lift teams, rapid response teams, and more
• Float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of ER experience

Requirements:

• Active California state RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; TNCC and ENPC preferred (TNCC must be obtained prior to start if not currently certified)
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Experience with patient ratio of 4:1
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in emergency nursing skills including trauma care, ventilated patients, procedural sedation, IV medication administration, and triage
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off during contract period
