Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring charge experience, an SC or compact RN license, and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department setting in a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Schedule is 4x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 3x12 schedule may be considered
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities may be required
- Charts in Epic EMR
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
- Required certifications (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
- Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience required
- Triage experience required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off must be disclosed prior to consideration; RTO requests submitted after that point will not be accepted
- Orientation modules are completed pre-start and average approximately 4 hours
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Royal blue scrubs required
