Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Handles shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, head injury, near drowning, and cardiac emergencies
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and ortho trauma preferred
• Two recent supervisor references required, dated within the last 12 months
• Must disclose any license hits at time of consideration along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of cases including trauma, pediatrics, neurological events (CVA), and orthopedic injuries
• Teal scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before becoming eligible for travel positions
