Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Trauma Level II and community hospital experience with a CA RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Trauma Level II certified facility
• 3x12-hour shifts with variable start times between 1100-1500, including Day and Evening rotations
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• TNCC preferred but not required if not held
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma emergency care
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ventilated patient care
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Current Nursys license verification required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Manage patients with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and neuro-trauma cases
• Perform triage and utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• Candidates may only submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time
