Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring CA licensure and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• 20 rooms/26 beds with an average daily census of 105 and roughly 135 visits per day
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Weekend rotation required, 3 out of every 6 weekends
• Floating required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients)
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in trauma, cardiac monitoring, triage, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• May float to sister facilities within the system as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• Scrubs may be self-provided but must not include prints
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate
