Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for an 8-week travel contract in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license in hand and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

  • General Emergency Department setting serving a combined adult and pediatric population
  • 4x12-hour shifts, mid/night schedule (11:00–23:00 or 19:00–07:00)
  • 8-week contract with possibility of extension
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating to other units is required
  • Epic EMR is required for charting

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license currently in hand is required
  • Minimum 1 year of ER RN experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TRUST
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, CPIM
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Proficiency in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, and emergency medication administration
  • Experience with psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, and suicidal patients
  • Skills in central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Experience with CVA management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Charge nurse experience is preferred
  • Community hospital experience is preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates (within 75 miles of the facility) are not accepted
  • RTO requests of more than 10 days cannot be accommodated for this position
  • All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
  • 2 professional supervisory references from the past 2 years are required for consideration
  • A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
  • Candidates with foreign education credentials should be prepared for verification
  • Previous employment at this facility within the past year may affect eligibility
