Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment and clinical skills to manage a diverse patient population.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Emergency Room
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Experience Requirement: Minimum of 2 years in a similar setting
• Shifts: Night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center is required.
• A valid driver's license is required for submission.
• Candidates must adhere to a strict fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.

Unit Information

• Trauma Center Level: Level I
• Number of Beds: 20 beds, including 5 trauma and 10 observation beds
• Common Diagnoses: Trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, strokes
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in observation, 1:1 ICU/trauma

Work Environment

This role involves working in a dynamic emergency room setting where the ability to quickly assess and prioritize patient needs is essential. Security personnel are present in-house 24/7 for safety and support. Nurses are required to read and interpret cardiac monitors as part of their responsibilities.

Orientation and Training

• 1 week of onboarding
• 2 shifts at a designated location for training
• 1 additional shift at a secondary location for familiarization

Additional Notes

Weekend and holiday requirements may vary based on departmental needs. Floating to the observation unit and other designated facilities may be required at least once per week. All return-to-office requests should be made upfront.
