Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced, combined adult/pediatric Level II Trauma Center requiring a NH or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center
• Average daily census of 70 with 160 visits/day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 48 hours per pay period
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating expected to ICU and ED for helping hands/team nursing approach and patient sitting, though assignments will match clinical skill set
• Patient population spans full lifespan with diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to trauma, sepsis, psychiatric emergencies, and oncological/neurological emergencies
• Special procedures include conscious sedation, trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
• Uses Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology equipment
• Charting and communication systems include Epic, Omnicell, SBAR, and Voalte
• Unit orientation includes 36 hours of class/clinical time

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC
• Only AHA or American Red Cross certifications accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Strong pediatric population experience highly preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage, and emergency medication administration
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• References required, with one pending reference accepted to begin the process
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date

• Provide emergency care across the lifespan for a wide range of chief complaints and acuities
• Team nursing/helping hands approach with support across ED and ICU when floated
• Scrubs of any color are permitted
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former employees of any facility affiliated with Solution Health are not eligible for this assignment, regardless of separation date
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced local rate
