Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department with a strong pediatric presence, requiring Level II Trauma experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with combined adult/pediatric population
• Average daily census of 70 with 160 visits/day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a), 48 hours per assignment period
• No call requirements
• Floating expected to ICU and ED using a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, including patient sitting
• Assignments matched to clinical team; no floating outside clinical assignment
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Epic EMR, Omnicell, SBAR, and Voalte used for documentation and communication

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma and pediatric experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC (AHA or American Red Cross only)
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, IV starting/maintenance, neurological and CVA care, emergency medication administration, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and triage
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Professional references required, including at least one supervisor reference within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of start date

Additional Information

• Care for patients across the lifespan with diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma, sepsis, psychiatric emergencies, and OB/GI/GU concerns
• Perform or assist with special procedures including conscious sedation, trauma/stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
• Utilize specialized equipment such as Point of Care Ultrasound/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology systems
• Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week of class and clinical time
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Former employees of any facility associated with Solution Health are not eligible for this assignment, regardless of separation length
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
