Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring active MI licensure and prior Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department designations
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) per 4-week schedule, potentially 1-3 days per weekend
• Floating required, including possible float to Pediatrics
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratios typically 1:5-6, with potential to increase to 1:8 depending on patient volume and holidays
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required by start date (compact license not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• ENPC certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration preferred
• Triage experience preferred
• Certifications must be complete and active prior to contract start

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric ER population, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac cases
• Responsibilities may include care for gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, traumatic brain injuries, and other high-acuity trauma cases
• Complete pre-start training modules as part of onboarding
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Returning core staff must wait 12 months before reapplying
• RTO must be submitted at time of application, with no additional RTO approved afterward
• No RTO permitted on 10/31 or between 12/18-12/28
• Maximum RTO allowance is 5 days per assignment
