Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I/II trauma experience and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience.

Details

• Level I trauma center emergency department serving a combined adult/pediatric population
• Typical patient ratio of 4:1 based on acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent ED experience required
• Level I and Level II trauma center experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained through AHA
• Skills required include pediatric emergency care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and triage

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient presentations including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions within the facility or to affiliate hospitals based on census needs
• RNs may wear any scrub color

• Must be available to work 2 of the facility's recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• RTO requests require unit manager approval and no RTO is permitted during the first week due to orientation
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 5 years of ED experience
• Local candidates accepted
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
• Previous facility staff must be separated from employment for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
