Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required, must be in hand prior to start date
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with continuous IV sedation medications
• Neurological assessment experience including CVA care
• Cardiac monitoring experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Triage experience required
• RN degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma setting
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required ER experience
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
