Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a night shift role requiring at least 2.5 years of experience in a Level II trauma center and a CA RN license.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, combined adult/pediatric
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required per departmental needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating outside of the ER, but candidates will float within the hospital based on census
  • EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2.5 years of ER experience required in a large Level II trauma center
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience managing neurological trauma cases, including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
  • Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma
  • 1 professional reference required within the past 2 years
  • Current Nursys report required (pulled within 2 weeks of consideration), with no license verification hits allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
  • Manage a wide range of emergency cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, and near drownings
  • Care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
  • Time off requests must be pre-approved by the manager and submitted at the time of consideration; no additions afterward
  • Holiday time off cannot be guaranteed and is reviewed separately closer to the holiday season
  • First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the 2.5-year trauma center experience requirement
  • Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for consideration
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
